IF you enjoy various forms of entertainment, think more Sunday Night at the Palladium rather than Britain’s Got Talent, then you may have enjoyed watching the advert for Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Oat & Crunch. If you’ve not seen it, it comprises of two dinnerladies ‘freeing the joy’ by playing to the tune of Get Ready For This from 2 Unlimited, with spoons:
After the sweet meets savoury incarnations of Dairy Milk with Ritz and Dairy Milk with Lu, Cadbury have introduced the Oat & Crunch. It follows the same shape and consistency as the previous two, a block of dairy milk sandwiched by an oaty biscuit. The biscuit is more like the Lu variety but the chocolate very much overpowers this biscuit in this instance. For chocoholics, this is a very good thing and it does also prevent the oat biscuit from becoming dry. But for those who were potentially hoping for more of a flapjack like consistency, you will be slightly disappointed by this. There is an oaty aftertaste however.
Despite this, Oat & Crunch is likely to be as successful as its predecessors. It is a nice snack that could double up as a breakfast biscuit. With Cadbury promoting their ‘Feel the Joy’ tagline, this could also serve as the elevenses snack that Cadbury are seemingly trying to bring back in to fashion.
