Capri-Sun BanApple

AFTER the recent release of their third major movie appearance, the Minions from Despicable Me have been a merchandising dream. They have now even broken in to the world of drink after the success of their Haribo sweets. Capri-Sun have followed Haribo by releasing a Minion inspired flavour; BanApple.

For those who aren’t aware, a Minion’s favourite food is a banana. But as banana juice is something that hasn’t really been produced and sounds rather peculiar, Capri-Sun needed to infuse it with another, more standard, juice drink. Despite apple being the more popular juice, the banana flavour is actually more prominent to begin with.

The banana taste is made sharper by the apple, but this could also be helped by the added lemon and lime juices that are included in the ingredients. Once the initial banana taste goes, the taste of red apple, as featured on the packaging, is the longer lasting one. This helps to make it a more familiar juice drink and although this infusion is a strange one, it is quite nice and a drink that children who are obsessed with the Minions will be wanting and enjoying.
