THE ORIGINAL cookies and cream brand have separated their famous coupling and given them each a new partner. Alongside this, Oreo have released a new television advert, fit with an extremely catchy tune that will get stuck in your head for hours:
As you can see, Oreo’s dark cookies have been replaced by a new golden cookie to make them look much brighter. As you would expect, these cookies are just as nice and moreish as their original but the taste is the same as another household biscuit favourite. They are basically the same as custard creams. So if you’re a fan of them you’ll be a big fan of these Golden Oreos. The only real difference between the two is the shape with Oreo’s roundness and the different writing on the cookies. The cookies are crisp and met by that soft creamy middle that just keep you coming back for more.
The Oreos come in tubes of 16 and will nicely fill up a biscuit jar. But Oreo haven’t forgotten about their original cookies. With their creamy middle shacking up inside a golden sandwich, the darker cookies have also had to find a new partner and this comes in the form of limited edition Peanut Butter Oreos.
Like the Golden flavour, these are nice but don’t overly deliver completely. The darker cookie seems to overpower the peanut butter cream so it doesn’t taste too dissimilar to the original Oreos. There is a slightly salted taste to them but the taste of peanuts only comes afterwards. They’re certainly worth a try but they may work better if the cookies were milk chocolate rather than dark chocolate. The Peanut Butter flavour is also available in those mini packets if you only want a taster.
