Hovis – Sunflower & Pumpkin Seed Bread

BREAD doesn’t often go through many changes. The only real thing you can do to Bread is potentially add things to it and that’s exactly what Hovis has done with their latest special edition loaf.

Their new Sunflower and Pumpkin Seed Loaf is a very soft but crusty Bread. In terms of taste, there’s not really any difference to the taste of normal Bread apart from the obvious texture and slight crunch of the seeds. It’s only currently available in the smaller sized, 400g loaves but the thing about choosing this Bread is for the health benefits.

Sunflower Seeds have a lot of Vitamin E and Folate which is great for the cardiovascular system. They also contain a lot of Vitamin B-6 which helps metabolise fats and helps to keep your hair, skin and liver healthy. Both Sunflower and Pumpkin Seeds contain a lot of Magnesium which helps to maintain muscle and nerve function as well as helping to promote regular blood pressure. Pumpkin Seeds can also aid prostate health and also have benefits for menopausal women.

So if you don’t mind eating seeded loaves then this new Hovis Bread can go some way to beginning a healthy diet especially with the supposed health benefits that the Seeds bring.
