Higgidy Slow Cooked Venison & Red Wine Pie

HIGGIDY are one of those companies that release monthly special editions for everyone to try and keep track of and enjoy something different each time.

However, their latest Special Guest Pie feels like a bit of a cheat and, with the price you pay for these, it’s actually quite disappointing. This new Slow Cooked Venison & Red Wine Pie sounds really upmarket but it’s not really too different to their Slow Cooked Steak & Red Wine Pie which is one of Higgidy’s staples.

Being in a Pie and surrounded by flavouring, it’s hard to tell the difference between Venison and Steak apart from the Venison was slightly softer and easier to chew through. The Red Wine offers a nice little tang to it but that was to be expected as it does this with the Steak & Red Wine Pie. As far as a Pie goes, this is quite a nice Pie. But it’s not really different enough to warrant buying it outright especially as they are brands of Pie out there which are a lot cheaper and just as satisfying.
