Walkers Mix-Ups – Meaty

THE CRISP market saw a few notable inventions last year and 2016 is the year where extra flavours are being brought to the table to cement these ideas onto the shelves.

Walkers Mix-Ups were one of the successes from last year and have now released a Meaty flavour. It was perhaps an obvious decision as Meat flavours tend to dominate the Crisp market and now all of your favourite Crisp varieties have come together once again. There’s a mixture of BBQ Rib Doritos, Worcester Sauce French Fries, Roast Beef Monster Munch and Roast Beef Wotsits which potentially poses a couple of questions despite its niceness.

For starters, Worcester Sauce isn’t a meaty flavour which may leave us feeling shortchanged in a pedantic sense. There’s also a bit of cheating going on as Roast Beef Wotsits aren’t something that has been on the shelves before and are basically the same as their Monster Munch counterpart just in a different shape. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as even though the Roast Beef Monster Munch are the newest Monster Munch flavour, they quickly became one of the most popular. If there’s a chance that Wotsits could bring out a Roast Beef flavour then that could be very exciting. If not then you’ll only be able to find them here and that’ll probably be enough to warrant buying these.

Overall it is a nice new addition to the Mix-Ups range but it is perhaps a rather hasty creation especially as half of the components aren’t technically meaty or on the shelves. But the exciting premise of having a mixture of your favourite snacks in one bag is still there and this Meaty variety adds another option and is certainly worth trying, especially if you are a fan of the four flavours.
